Best Wishes to South Sound FC teams competing in the US Club Regional Tournament over the 4th of July weekend in Burlington Washington. Winners of this tournament will have the opportunity to compete in the National Cup in Virginia Beach, VA July 31st- Aug 1st.
Besides playing great competition from the NW, our players will be exposed to college coaches from around the nation.

The South Sound FC boys U10 team completed the first Puget Sound Premier League season by taking first place in Division 1. The boys record of 5 wins and 1 loss along with the league leading 32 goals earned them the top spot in the BU10 Division 1 league. The SSFC girls U10 placed second in their Division with a 4-2 record, holding opponents to only 2 goals all season.
In tournament action, South Sound FC girls U13 advanced to the semi-finals of the Rainier Challenge in Puyallup by shutting out Crossfire(Redmond) 3-0, Synergy(Auburn) 1-0, and Timbers(Vancouver) 1-0, but were stopped 0-1 by the eventual tournament champion Washington Premier FC. The SSFC girls U14 team won Westsound 2-1 (Kitsap County) and tied Emerald City 1-1(Seattle) and Crossfire 0-0, but were one point short of advancing to the championship match. The SSFC girls U16 went 1-2 in top state competition winning Spokane Shadow 1-0 and losing to Crossfire 2-1, and Washington Premier 1-0.
South Sound FC is excited to announce that it will be hosting, in cooperation with Thurston County Youth Soccer Association a 3V3 Live soccer tournament at the Lacey Regional Athletic Complex (RAC)

OK Keepers, it's finally time to meet Kelly. Keeper training will be on a 2 week rotation, switching from Wednesdays to Tuesdays so keepers can alternate practicing with their teams and going to keeper training. The Schedule is posted on the club calendar below. Kelly will conduct trainings every other week and Carly, keeper training assistant, will conduct the other sessions.

To find the ranking click on the logo above and select "Club" from top menu, then "Team Rank". From Rankings page, go to U14 Girls and scroll down to Pacific Northwest. Note that this team tied the #1 team in the nation, So Cal Blues earlier this year in the Far West Regional League.
Sunday May 3rd, the South Sound FC G94 Crush defeated Federal Way Reign for the Girls 2009 State Championship. SSFC started strong when Alyssa Edenstrom scored off a corner kick in the 9th minute to give SSFC an early lead. A determined Federal Way team were able to create many dangerous situations around the goal box, but SSFC denied each opportunity capturing their second state title in the past 3 years.
SSFC G94 will travel to Lancaster, CA June 15-21 to compete in the Far West Regionals.
Congratulations to SSFC G94 who have had a grueling schedule and many accomplishments this past season.

Overall, South Sound FC competed well in State Championship Cup action with G95 Red and G93 Red each winning games in bracket play, while the G96 Red tied all of their matches and missed advancing out of bracket by 1 point. SSFC teams posted an impressive 8 wins, 5 losses and 4 ties though the Championship Cup combining for more wins than any club between Vancouver and Puyallup.

South Sound FC Director of Coaching, John Purtteman, will be inducted into the Washington State Soccer Association Hall of Fame on May 9th. As a player, Purtteman has won 13 National Championships as a member of 7 different teams. Purtteman captained three different Professional teams and was twice selected as an All-Star in the Continental Indoor Soccer League. John is also the head coach at The Evergreen State College and operates the Golden Goals Soccer Camp in Shelton.
