Soccer Players and Parents
The South Sound Futbol Club, a member of Thurston County Youth Soccer Association, will be conducting tryouts for competitive youth soccer teams per the schedule below. Tryouts are open to all players in Washington State.
Come join us as we continue our quest for excellence, coming off our best year ever earning a State Championship in 2007 at GU12, along with state cup finalist at GU12 and GU11 quarter-finalist. This past season our GU13 placed first in GU14 State Premier Divison I, GU14 were promoted to State Premier Division II and our boys played at State Premier Division II.
Leading the charge for 2009 will be recently hired Director of Coaching John Purtteman. John will be providing the competitive direction for SSFC, ensuring each team gets the appropriate level of training and competition to maximize their potential. As a former professional player and member/coach of various championship teams, John is well qualified to continue moving SSFC to the highest levels of state competition.

U11 players will not compete for specific teams at tryouts, but will be placed in a player pool for training and development. South Sound FC recognizes that young players are developing at different rates and seeks to encourage participation and training over specific team selection. This highly successful model has encouraged many talented players to try a more challenging soccer experience without the stress of being cut or not playing with their friends.
2009 Tryout times and locations are to be determined. Players will need to arrive 30 minutes prior to the tryout session to warm up and be ready to participate when session starts. Players need to wear appropriate clothing, including shin guards and bring water. No other drinks allowed on the turf field. Any player unable to attend should contact SSFC at (360) 339-5618 before the tryouts. Note that all players are expected to tryout at their appropriate "soccer" age. Any players desiring to tryout for an older age group, must get approval from coaching directors Steve Dobosz or John Purtteman.
